Accessibility

Making College Council more accessible and visible to students is important for promoting representation, accountability, transparency, and engagement within the college community. Read more about my action plans about increasing accessibility across campus.

  • Constantly update our website to be comprehensive and easy to navigate. It accurately conveys information including a member roster with positions and contacts. This will be vital to understanding who to reach out to within College Council to guide students through any issues or direct you to the right admin contacts.

  • Partner with Wonderful Wednesday to increase our visibility by tabling bi-weekly at Asbury Circle. I want to foster face to face interactions with ECAS students so we can hear your concerns, take any suggestions for improvement and answer any questions. This would reduce any bureaucracy that exists and bridge the gap between students and College Council.

  • Publicize College Council’s General Body meetings to all ECAS students through our social media outlets such as Instagram, the HUB, TikTok, and our website increasing transparency on our processes. With our current initiatives being up to date, students with a desire to drive change can come to us and push ideas into tangible actions. This would enable us to be more visible and accessible to directly connect students with admin contacts to voice their opinions.

  • Continue advocating for user-friendly Emory resources by replacing the HUB and 25live with tools that enhance the student experience as it pertains to joining, organizing and leading clubs on campus. This year I was part of the selection committee deciding on the company replacing CampusLabs as our new HUB and I want to continue this project and work to change 25live into a software easily connected to the HUB itself and consolidate resources.

  • Promoting College Council’s recently established initiatives fund for NRF organizations giving them the opportunity to get up and running by meeting their start-up costs. By making knowledge easily accessible and by educating student leaders and treasurers through Officer Compliance Training, we can provide all chartered clubs with equal opportunity to apply for funding and support through College Council.

  • Organize and execute a student involvement fair on the Oxford campus for Atlanta campus organizations who are open to forming connections with and recruiting Oxford students by integrating them into the community. This is important to easing in the transition from the Oxford campus to Atlanta.

“I have never met a more hardworking and dedicated individual. Whether it be late night meetings, personally purchasing supplies for events, or speaking directly with the administration, Neha has made so many sacrifices in order to serve. I cannot count the number of times I have asked Neha why she is up so late, and she has responded, “College Council.” Frankly, Neha puts College Council ahead of herself.”
