Vote Neha Murthy
College Council President
My Story
Hi everyone! My name is Neha Murthy (she/her). When I started my freshman year at Emory during the pandemic, like any first-year student, I was eager to find my place on campus. However, as COVID-19 exacerbated existing gaps in the support infrastructure for campus life, my goal to find community was dampened and I realized I fell victim to a common story lived by many Emory students: not feeling a sense of belonging at Emory due to the enormous untapped potential in our campus life. I was lost. I didn't know how to get involved. And I didn't know who to reach out to or how.

Motivation
I am running for CC President because I am passionate about empathizing with people's experiences and working towards positive change. I believe that a strong community is the foundation for a thriving campus and that accessibility, responsibility, education, and sustainability are key pillars of that community. That is why my platform, CARES, focuses on these areas. I am committed to ensuring that every student feels heard and included, that resources and opportunities are accessible to all, that we take responsibility for our impact on the world around us, and that we prioritize education and sustainability in all of our actions. As president, I will work tirelessly to make sure that these goals are not just talked about, but put into action, so that everyone at our university can thrive.
